Our client is a web and mobile game platform that creates dynamic and engaging free solitaire games. These games keep visitors on their site for extended periods, resulting in more ad impressions and revenue.
However, to capture visitors and ad revenue in the gaming space, it’s essential to rank in the top position as most people only click on one or two results.
The client reached out to us to help improve their ranking for the highly lucrative keyword “solitaire,” as their page was stuck at #9.
The Strategy
Our client had a similar number of total referring domains as competitors. However, they had fewer high-quality follow links. They also lacked topical authority because most of their informational content was tangential and did not showcase their solitaire expertise.
To improve their site authority we created newsworthy Digital PR pieces that leveraged unique data. This helped us generate high-quality links, closing the gap between our client’s website and competitors.
We added strategic internal links from our Digital PR posts to their priority pages like Solitaire to pass the link authority onward and help improve rankings.
To improve their topical authority for solitaire, we targeted informational terms like “how to set up solitaire” and “best solitaire app.” Ranking for these terms not only helped increase brand awareness, it positioned our client as the go-to source for all things solitaire.

We built 185+ links and created a solitaire topic cluster, helping the “solitaire” page increase from #9 to #1. Monthly organic traffic to the page increased nearly four times, from 2,130,146 to 8,147,883, resulting in a traffic value of $3,500,000.
Additionally, the topic cluster content generates 12,000+ organic visits per month. Prior to our engagement, there was no organic traffic to the blog.
Because the site is monetized by display ads, the uptick in traffic to priority pages led to a significant increase in revenue.
